Whoa- I’ve been majorly slacking at posting. I’m ashamed that I couldn’t even manage to get a Currently post up in the last few months! When everything else is occupying my time, blogging definitely goes by the wayside. I appreciate that the five of you that are still reading… are still reading. :)

We’ve got a bunch of exciting stuff going on at work (I’ll share soon, I promise!) that’s been making my usual 40-50 hour work week more like 60. And, add planning Blend on top of that (along with Janetha and Lindsay)- it’s pretty much like two full-time jobs. Let me make this clear though: I’m not complaining! I love my job and planning Blend… but I need a nap. :)

Current books: I have a bad habit of starting books and then bailing halfway through to start another one. I did that with The Andy Cohen Diaries in favor of Gone Girl, and was then distracted by a few other books. The last (full) book I read was this one, which I totally loved and could relate to on almost every level. But, now I’m back to Andy Cohen and am determined to finish it! I have Torch waiting for me next.

Current music: Pandora station: Mumford & Sons (always)

Current guilty pleasure: I don’t know if it’s really a guilty pleasure, but I get an awful lot of entertainment from the How-Old.Net site. I think I’ve tried about 10 different photos, and it usually ages me anywhere from 40 – 72 (I’m 35, btw). These two photos were the youngest. I guess a stupid bright red lipstick selfie reverses the aging process?

Current nail color: I really should change this to (toe)nail color, since my finger nails are almost always naked. I got a much needed pedicure on Saturday and am now sporting clean, short gold toes.

Hey friends. It’s been kind of a tough month. I don’t want to bore you with my complaints, but I’ll just say that I’ve been burning the candle at both ends and will be happy to be able to take a few days off next month! Greg and I did manage to get away to Crested Butte last weekend, but we had to cut our trip short due to a crazy storm moving in (that would have had us stuck there for an extra day or two). The funny thing is, there wasn’t any (new) snow at Crested Butte- it was all at our house! I managed to ski for a few hours one morning, but it was icy and not desirable (but super pretty!).

Hopefully we can go back next season, because it is a really nice resort and cute town!

Let’s get on with it, shall we?

Current books: After hearing so much buzz about it, I ordered this book from Amazon:

It’s my first Currently post of the new year! The winter is certainly flying by (and I am definitely not complaining about that!). I was looking back at last month’s post and remembering how COLD it was. It’s definitely been a different story this week- Monday and Tuesday were in the 70s! I’ve been enjoying this taste of spring and trying to get outside as much as I can (because I’m sure it’s going to be followed by another cold spell soon enough!).

I’ve been talking about going to the Wild Animal Sanctuary since last summer, but had yet to actually make the trip there. Greg and I (along with our back-door neighbors) took advantage of the great weather on Sunday and finally made it over there! If you live in Colorado (or are visiting), I highly recommend visit the Wild Animal Sanctuary. You can read about their story here (and then you’ll be planning your trip!). There were lions, tigers and bears (oh my!) but the wolves were my absolute favorite. They were so much fun to watch- and it was so cool when they started howling.

I’ll definitely be going back in the spring. Most of the bears (they have 150 total!) were hibernating, and apparently they are all out and about after winter. :)

Moving on…

Happy Monday, friends! We’re already half-way through the month, so it seemed like a good day for a Currently post. Before we get started, here’s a photo from my snowy hike yesterday.

It was all of 30 degrees out, but it seemed like a heat wave compared to the weather we had last week!

Current books: Nothing at the moment, but I ordered Andy Cohen’s new book from Amazon the other day (which is supposed to arrive tomorrow).

I also ordered his first book, which I (sadly) didn’t even know existed until recently. I love Andy Cohen and think he’s the most talented person on television!

Current music: I’ve been listening to a lot of Shovels & Rope (and saw them in concert last night). They were amazing- and I was out until midnight (which is crazy, considering I usually go to bed at 10 pm, even on weekends).

Current guilty pleasure: I was going to list this song for the answer above, but the amount of times that I listen to “Stay With Me” each day (and sing at the top of my lungs) has totally turned it into a guilty pleasure.

Whoa- two posts in a week… can you believe it?! Because I will be rambling enough down below, let’s just get right into it:

Currently: October

Current books: I recently finished Wild by Cheryl Strayed, and can confidently say that it’s my favorite book EVER. I haven’t started a new book yet, but want to read another Cheryl Strayed book or Into The Wild next (because I love the movie, and I bet the book is 10x better). I tend to like reading memoirs and non-fiction - I’m open to suggestions!

Current music: Speaking of Into the Wild, I literally listened to the soundtrack all day long while I worked yesterday. This song is my fave. :)

Current guilty pleasure: I pretty much always say Real Housewives of New Jersey, so I’m sticking with that. I can’t wait for the reunion show on Sunday!

Current nail color: Chipped.

TGIF! Man, September has been a whirlwind of a month! Greg was traveling during the first two weeks and the day after he got back I set off for Maryland for a week and a half. I had to fly to Baltimore for work (for Expo East) but went a few days early to visit family. It was really nice to spend some quiet time with my family and see a few friends (including my dear Ashley- the day before she gave birth to her beautiful daughter!).

It’s very strange to me that fall is already here and October is around the corner- but I’m going to try and embrace it! Because of surgery, I was kind of robbed of summer (at least the first half), but it definitely ended on a positive note. I’ve pretty much been able to get back into all of my favorite activities and am so thankful for that! There’s still a way to go until I’m “normal,” but I’m extremely pleased with my recovery.

I just got back from enjoying an incredible weekend in Steamboat Springs. It was my first time visiting there and I can’t wait to go back! Paige and Shane had planned on going for their anniversary, and since Greg and I were planning on going somewhere that weekend, we all decided to go. The four of us had dinner one night and went on an amazing, beautiful hike another morning. The aspens are changing color and everything is just beautiful.

Greg and I brought our bikes and took a nice ride along the river before we left. It’s hard to think that the next time we visit Steamboat it will be covered in snow!

Alright. Without further ado, here’s what’s going on in my life lately:

Current books: Wild by Cheryl Strayed

I’ll admit it- I’m not much of a reader. My friend Natalie told me (raved about, actually) about this book a year ago and I put reading it on my to-do list. It wasn’t until I saw the trailer for it earlier this month that I actually took action.

The movie comes out later this year, and I was determined to read it first. I started reading it on the plane to Maryland was immediately sucked in. I tried reading before bed each night, but usually only got through a few pages before I dozed off. I read more on the plane back to Denver, and still have about 1/3 of the book to go. I think it’s pretty safe to say- this will end up being my favorite book of all time (and I can’t wait for the movie!). GO READ IT!!

Hello! Dang… I am in a good mood today and just feel this sense of happiness that I haven’t had in months. I taught my first Bodypump class (at 6:00am!) this morning since surgery! The last class that I taught was May 15th… that’s a long break! I was excited (and a little nervous) to go back, but I had no idea just how much I missed teaching until today. It was great to see everyone and be welcomed back and I’m happy to say that I survived the entire hour of teaching. I had just about forgotten about the feeling I get from teaching a class until this morning. It’s just one of the best feelings in the world- a combination of endorphins and a sense of accomplishment- I’m so glad to have it back in my life.

Okay, enough gushing about Bodypump. (Except one more thing- the latest release, Bodypump 90, ROCKS.) Here’s what’s going on in my world, currently:

Current books: I’m about to pick up a copy of my friend Kelly’s second novel, which was just released this past Tuesday!

She’s had two books published in less than a year (here’s the first)- I’m so proud!! If you’re into Young Adult Fiction, check this book out!

Current music: Bodypump 90 ALL THE TIME. I was cramming to learn the choreography this past week!

Hello! I can’t believe it’s already June- once again this past month seemed to fly by. June 2014 has seemed so far away for so long, mostly because it’s when The Blend Retreat is taking place. We’ve been planning it for almost a year, so it’s crazy that it’s finally about to happen. We’re also just weeks away from summer- which is by far my favorite season of the year. Even though I won’t be doing a lot of my normal summer activities for a while, I’m still excited to get outside and to have friends from the east coast visit.

Here’s what’s going on in my world, currently:

Current books: Nothing! Paige told me about this book and I’m planning to start it next.

Current music: Since I’m seeing Lionel Ritchie at Red Rocks this month, I’ll share this classic feel-good tune:

Well hello there- and sorry for the unintentional hiatus! Between having some major projects at work, traveling out of state and being in the process of moving, this little blog has gone on the back burner for the last few weeks. I definitely owe you a few updates and will get right to it!
Greg and I headed down to Florida for a few days to visit his mom and stepdad, whom we hadn’t seen in over a year and a half. My mom and stepdad also flew down, which was great! I hadn’t seen them since we went to Maryland back in November and missed them terribly. It was really nice to spend a few relaxing days with the family.
We got back yesterday morning and closed on our new home that same afternoon!

I’m really excited about moving into our new place (and hopefully not moving again for a very long time!). We’re just a few minutes outside of Boulder and can rides our bikes to some cool breweries and shoppes. Since we knew we’d be moving again soon, Greg and only unpacked about half of our stuff at the house we’ve been renting this past year. This move will definitely be easier than the last one. :)
As for work, everything is GREAT but very busy (which is a good thing!). I’m very happy to actually be using my Graphic Design degree, as 50% of my job duties are related to creating ads and various graphics. As I predicted though, having a full-time job that requires constantly checking and doing marketing research on various social media networks (and looking at a computer all day long) doesn’t really make me want to keep up with my personal social media accounts and blog quite as much. (I’ll still try to check in as often as I can here, I promise!)

Happy Monday, friends! It’s crazy that we’re already into the last week of March- and I am certainly happy to embrace spring (and see some green around here!). As much as I really haven’t minded winter this season, I’m a warm-weather girl through and through. I’m trying to live in the moment but there are a bunch of exciting, fun things coming up in the next few months that I’m looking forward to.

But- for today- let’s stay in the present. :) I just realized that the month is almost over- and I haven’t written a Currently post yet! Let’s fix that, shall we?

Currently: March

Current books: No books- just the magazines that we subscribe to:

Current music: The Avett Brothers- I can’t wait to see them at Red Rocks this summer!
