Good Morning! I’m going to attempt to keep it short and sweet today with a few snapshots from (and words about) the last few days.
I don’t know how it is where you live, but the weather was wacky here this weekend! When I woke up on Friday morning and looked outside I was surprised to see about 3″ of snow on the ground. It’s the first real snow we’ve had this season (other than a very small dusting earlier in the month) and someone was very excited about it…
The sun came out later in the morning and by 3:00 that afternoon it was completely melted! The sun decided to stay around for the rest of the day and continued to shine all day Saturday. Greg and I decided to spend the morning sleeping in (yay!) and then headed into Boulder for a little bit of hiking.
Even though I hike at Chautauqua at least once a week (and sometimes as much as 3-4 times!) I never, ever get tired of it.
The rest of the day included a farmers market trip, running errands and just enjoying the perfect weather. Speaking of perfect- I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the day:
A win for Boston!! I don’t talk about it too much on here, but perhaps you remember that I’m a bit of a crazy Red Sox fan. When you marry a guy that was born and raised in Boston, you pretty much have no choice but to give in. Just take a look at my wedding cake…
After a super disappointing season last year, it feels really awesome to have our team come out as the AL Champions this season! I’m really excited for a great set of games for the World Series.
Sunday continued the trend of crazy weather. It was about 50˚ around 8:00 am and then just kept getting colder from there. Greg and I headed into Denver late in the morning to cheer on our friend Melissa, who was running her very first marathon! Her boyfriend Brock (who is a friend of mine from Maryland that moved out here a year before us) had run the half marathon that morning and was already finished by the time we got there. We met up and waited right by the 26 mile mark to cheer Melissa on to the finish.
After much anticipation, we saw finally saw Melissa and her friend Jen!
I was so proud of Brock and Melissa for having run their first long-distance races- and what better race to choose than the Rock ‘N Roll Marathon?!
Even though Greg and I didn’t run any races that morning, we happily joined them for pizza and beer afterwards. It was actually the first beer I’ve had since GABF – I didn’t even want to think about beer last week. By the time we got out of the restaurant, it was even colder and raining steadily. And for this week- it’s supposed to go back to warmer weather and sunshine! I guess I’ll get used to this crazy Colorado weather soon- or so I’m told.
And for now, I’ll leave with a little video of my silly dogs.
Have a fantastic Monday!
Have you been enjoying “fall-like” weather where you live? What did you do this weekend?
