Happy Friday, friends!
I’m currently enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather in downtown Minneapolis where I’m staying all weekend for the Healthy Living Summit. I’ll be speaking on a panel with my friends Cassie and Gretchen on Saturday morning about how to use your blog to elevate your personal career. I’m looking forward to all of the fun events before and after that and excited to meet some new friends (and see some old ones!). I feel very flattered to have been asked to speak at the conference and hope that my story and advice can inspire some of my fellow bloggers to follow their own dreams when it comes to their career (and life!).
I’m also extremely blessed and thankful for the relationship that I have with Silk, who is sponsoring me to attend this event. They are a really amazing company and I have enjoyed working with them on various projects this past year. They are located in the same town I live in, the employees are the nicest people ever and I really respect everything the company stands for and supports. Is that enough gushing? It’s all true! To top it all off- they sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers to my hotel with a note wishing me good luck for Saturday’s presentation!
What did I do to deserve all of this??
Just a little more about why I love Silk:
This is the second conference that I’m (proud to be) representing Silk at and I’m honored to take that role. Back in June, Silk invited me to be an ambassador for their new Silkblogger program- and of course I said yes! (Check out the Silk Blogger page here!) As a Silk Ambassador I try to spread awareness of their amazing products and company. It’s really not hard to do that, as I’ve been a fan of their soy and almond milks for years. Silk is committed to using Non-GMO ingredients for their products and are leading supporters of the Non-GMO Project and Just Label It. They also believe in giving back to the community. Silk institutes a recycling and composting program at their headquarters and make big efforts to conserve and restore water. To top it all off, Silk promotes a healthy lifestyle to the employees by offering delicious, healthy (many local and organic) foods in their cafeteria and fitness classes on-site (I’ve been lucky enough to take a yoga class with them!).
So, you can easily see why I am such a huge fan of this company- and I haven’t even talked about how wonderful their products are yet! Silk Pure Almond is probably my favorite of all of the non-dairy milks that Silk makes. I like all of the varieties, but am currently hooked on the new Silk Pure Almond Light.
Silk also just introduced an unsweetened variety of their coconut milk!
I haven’t gotten my hands on this one yet, but am excited to try it out! I love using both almond and coconut milk in many different ways, but they make my way into a smoothie on an almost daily basis. Here’s a couple of my favorite Silk Smoothie recipes using Pure Almond or Pure Coconut milk:
The possibilities are endless!
I’m off to enjoy a fantastic (unforgettable) weekend. One more thing- Be sure to go check out the Smoothie Kit Giveaway that Silk is doing along with Vega and Justin’s – it looks pretty awesome. The contest is open from Sept. 16-20th, so put a note on your calendar now!
Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!
What’s your favorite “type” of milk?
Silk has provided me compensation as part of the Ambassador program. All opinions are 100% my own (and 100% honest).
