As you’re reading this, I’m probably en route to (or already in) Minneapolis, MN! I’m spending the weekend attending the Healthy Living Summit conference. This is my first year attending and I’m also honored to have been asked to speak on a panel with two of my most favorite ladies about how to use your blog to elevate your career. More on the two other gals in a minute. I’m also honored to represent Silk this weekend, as they were awesome enough to sponsor me to attend the conference.
I’m excited to meet new friends this weekend and to spend some time exploring Minneapolis- I’ve never been there before! (If you have any suggestions of things to see and do, please share!) I’m hanging out with Lee today (which lives in Minneapolis) and as I’ve mentioned before- she’s the lady who’s responsible for me discovering the land of healthy living blogs! I randomly found her blog about 2 1/2 years ago and quickly became sucked in. I decided to start my own about six months after that and had no idea how much of an amazing impact it would have on my life. So- THANKS LEE!
And if you’re not familiar with Lee, please go check her blog out. She’s a very talented photographer/artist and recipe creator too!
Speaking of ladies that I adore…
I want to take a minute to introduce you to the two incredible women that I’ll be speaking on a panel with on Saturday. First up is my good friend Gretchen!
I’m lucky enough to call Gretchen a “real-life” friend. She lives in the DC area so we used to get together often when I lived in Maryland. Gretchen is super smart, funny, stylish and just awesome. And- she’s a crazy dog lady just like me! Gretchen is a talented writer and even published a young-adult fiction novel last winter (which is a great read!). She recently got a dream job with Yelp! as a community manager and gets to do some pretty fun and cool stuff.
And then there’s Cassie:
Strangely enough, I’ve never met Cassie in person but I feel like I’ve known her for years! Cassie lives in Indiana and is über cool. She and her husband Craig also write a blog together called The Broken Plow (which is about homesteading and cool DIY projects). They grow all kinds of stuff in their garden and do a really great job of living off the land. Cassie is a graphic designer AND she also has a cookbook coming out next winter! Be sure to check out Cassie’s blog for great recipes and super useful tips and printables (like my personal favorite!).
I can’t wait to hang out with these fabulous ladies in Minneapolis- and see what kind of trouble we can get into.
If you’re going to be attending HLS this weekend- please come say hello!!
Have you been to a blogging conference before? Have you met any friends through blogging?
