I never want summer to end. Even though I’m looking forward to fall (and all that comes with it), I’m going to be really sad to see summer go. I love warm weather, wearing shorts, tank tops and flip flops and spending every free moment outdoors. Lucky for me Colorado hasn’t shown any signs of giving up on summer just yet (although it’s supposed to cool down during the week…). I know I have just a few precious weeks left where I can hike comfortably without having to wear a ton of layers!
It was downright hot this weekend and I enjoyed every minute of it! I woke up bright & early on Saturday morning to represent KIND at Yoga on the Rocks. I had worked this event last month and really enjoyed it, so I was happy to go again. It was a gorgeous, sunny morning and you really can’t pick a better location for an outdoor yoga class.
I took some promotional KIND shots before the class ended (I love doing those!)
And even ran into the adorable Kaity afterwards!
She was nice enough to indulge me with a KIND pose.
Greg had been mountain biking nearby and we both finished up around the same time so we met up for breakfast in Golden. It was really nice to just sit outside and chat and relax after such an early morning’s start!
After getting back home, we decided to take the doggies over to the dog park in Louisville. We’d been talking about taking them there for a while and finally did it! The dog park is really nice and has a whole fenced-in area with a pond for dogs to swim in!
As you can see, they loved it. We went right over to the dog wash afterwards to give them a bath. The water isn’t exactly the cleanest…
Greg and I kept the fun going Saturday and headed out to Boulder to check out a Wild Woods Brewery with our friends Andrea and Brian.
Greg and I love checking out local breweries any chance we get – especially in Boulder! We ordered a sampler so we could try all that they had to offer.
The beers were delicious- especially the Campfire Red (the one right in the middle). The tasting room itself was really cute (and clean!) and the staff was super nice and friendly! We will definitely be going back there again (and again). Dinner with Paige, Shane and other friends followed and Greg and I were completely exhausted by 9pm. It was definitely a long day!
We managed to get up bright and early again the next morning to meet Paige and Shane for a day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Paige suggested hiking to Lily Mountain – Greg and I are always up for checking out new trails! The trail head started near Lily Lake, which is gorgeous and provides an awesome view of Long’s Peak.
The hike was moderate- definitely not too challenging (and had nothing on our last hike together) but provided a good cardio workout. We stopped a few times along the way to enjoy the views (and pose for photos, of course).
Look at these adorable kids:
We all know just how lucky we are to have hikes like this just a short drive away!
It took about an hour and half (give or take a few minutes) to reach the summit. I was shocked when I got to the top- the views were even more beautiful than I expected!!
Paige promptly walked right over to the edge and sat down (which made me ridiculously nervous!).
And to make matters worse, Greg joined her!
I have a slight fear of heights- especially when it comes to being on the edge of something that drops off a long way!
When they safely came back from the edge, we got this lovely group shot:
I know that you can never show too much gratitude, but I am just so thankful for living here and having friends like these. I’m a lucky, lucky lady.
By the time we all got back from the hike, I think everyone was ready for a nap. That’s definitely the sign of a good day (and a good weekend!).
Have a fantastic Monday!!
