Back In Merry-Land

I hope you enjoyed a nice long holiday weekend. I’m still trying to get used to the fact that it’s really September and that summer is coming to an end (well… technically there’s still a few weeks left). There are quite a few things that I’m looking forward to this month and in the fall in general. It’s cool to experience each season as a Colorado resident for the first time (and see how it compares to my former life back east).

Speaking of my former life back east…

I had a great whirlwind visit to Maryland this past weekend. I got into Baltimore Thursday afternoon and drove right over to one of my favorite restaurants for lunch. If there was a way that I could pick up Great Sage and move it to Boulder, I would do it in a heart beat!
I stayed at my mom’s house for the weekend, which is about 25 minutes away from my former house in Frederick. It was a little weird to be back- but weird in the sense that it felt like I hadn’t really ever left. It’s only been four months, but that’s much longer than I’ve ever been away from Maryland. Driving down the road to my mom’s house just felt like any other time I had done so- everything was definitely familiar and looked pretty much the same. I had made plans with various friends and family over the weekend, which started with a coffee date with two of my former teacher co-workers Georgia and Tracy. I spent Thursday night hanging out with my mom and stepdad at their house. It was nice to just chat and relax! I also had their Golden Retriever Murphy to keep me company for the weekend and help me get my crazy dog lady fix.

Awwwwww. Such a sweet pup. :)
