Coconut Secret Love

Recently, Coconut Secret sent me a few of their products to try out.

I was already a big fan of their coconut flour, but the coconut aminos was a new find for me!

I’ve been using coconut flour for baking ever since I discovered it last year. I love how flavorful it is and how it makes everything super fluffy. It’s GREAT for making things like…

Lemon-Blueberry (high protein) pancakes + muffins

Monkey Muffins

and Strawberry Short(protein)cake.

Just to name a few…

Coconut aminos has a (sort of) similar flavor to soy sauce, with a lower sodium content. I decided to try out something very simple for my first coconut aminos test run: marinated portobello mushrooms. I simply chopped up some portobello mushrooms and placed them in a ziploc baggie, along with some coconut aminos and balsamic vinegar.

I let the mixture marinate in the fridge for a few hours.

Then, I removed the mushrooms from the bag and roasted them in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350˚.

They were DELICIOUS!

Coconut Secret also makes coconut vinegar (which I also have), coconut sugar and coconut nectar- which I have used in recipes like this:

Flavors of fall dessert

AND they also make ice cream and snack bars. I haven’t tried either yet, but I’m sure that they’re stinkin’ delicious. Let me know if YOU have tried any of them- and what you think!

Have a great weekend!

Are you a coconut fan? Do you use coconut flour, aminos, sugar or nectar (or anything else coconut)?

Coconut Secret provided the products for me to review. Opinions are my own.

  1. I have yet to try coconut flour but definitely NEED to! I love coconut (though my dad pretty much hates it). I have to remember how much I love coconut water for workout recovery. At my 10k the other weekend, they had coconut water for the runners (and Powerade) but the coconut water was PERFECT and definitely left me feeling GREAT!

  2. I have some coconut flour AND coconut aminos, but have yet to open and use either one! I need to just start experimenting….but I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing. :)

  3. I love the coconut flour. I had some, and I used it all. I haven’t tried the aminos or sugar yet.

  4. I so need to try both of those. :)

This sounds so interesting – I do love aminos. I’ll have to look for this one!

  6. I use coconut oil in some of my Nutty Butters…but I am DYING to try the coconut aminos. They were just becoming blips on the radar when I left Central Market in TX, and considering the rate at which I go through Bragg’s, I’d love to try these out. :)

  7. This post came perfectly for me! I just picked up a bottle of those coconut aminos, out of intrigue, the other day. I haven’t tasted it yet.

  8. Mmm coconut. LOVE coconut almost anything!

  9. I definitely need to check the Coconut Aminos out. Thanks for the tip!
